About Us

Dean

I have been coaching and working with individuals in the fitness industry for 15 years. Having been an athlete in some capacity since childhood I have always marveled at finding the true potential of the human body and it’s capabilities.

Early in my young adult life I strayed from the path of fitness and also struggled with low self esteem, poor self image, depression, and anxiety. During this time I spiraled lower and lower and struggled to find a foothold to get my life on track.

During this time I reconnected with a family member who was a personal trainer and reintroduced me to fitness. Without knowing it he saved my life in more ways than one. I struggled early on like most in fitness trying to understand and navigate all of the information out there but having him to guide me was so crucial. During that time I fell in love with the lifestyle of fitness and I was determined to explore the potential it held for me and for others.

Over the years I have come to enjoy finding the brutal elegance that comes from finding the balance between developing raw primal strength and yet still working towards athletic performance. The things I am most passionate about are developing strength and muscle while evolving in the area of martial arts most specifically Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu. I love the mental growth that comes from evolving all aspects of mind, body and spirit.

I truly love working with athletes from ALL walks of life. I consider anyone willing to learn, grow and push themselves mentally and physically an athlete regardless of which sport (if any) they may train in.

Working with athletes of all types my goal is not to mold them to myself and my own ways of being, rather the goal is to have them grow and evolve as individuals and to see the true potential each of them holds on their own path of physical and mental evolution.

My greatest inspiration in life and in fitness is my wife. I have watched her battle a highly aggressive disease that almost took her life. In 2013 she was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer that had spread to her entire body. At one point early in our relationship she was near death and needing physical assistance to do anything from getting out of bed to taking a shower, and she did it with an iron will and mindset. She never wavered in her faith In God or her belief in the possibility of her own healing. She  was given a 20% or less chance of survival. Where anyone would understand her going into a state of despair and pain she bore or gracefully with a smile. Over time she battled and went into remission only to have the cancer return in her brain. Again with the same brutal and humble spirit of a fighter she overcame it. Even now she undergoes treatment and will undergo treatment for the rest of her life. Yet since then she has rebuilt her body and she trains as hard if not harder than anyone I know. She has the will and determination to overcome physical and mental obstacles that have come with her diagnosis and recovery.

Having been a witness to such an amazing journey I am more convinced now than ever of the true and immense potential of the human body when it is in alignment with the mind and spirit. My training principals center around the concepts I have learned from seeing such a beautiful journey.

All of these experiences have led me to want to help others more than ever to unlock the true potential they posses!

I have been in the fitness and training industry since 2008. I began my training career after seeing how my own weight loss transformation positively impacted my own life. I began to truly understand the role that being physically fit could play in a persons life beyond just the physical. I learned the way it changes a person mentally and even spiritually to push themselves to new limits they never thought possible.

My original weight loss journey earned me a sponsorship as an athlete and gave me the ability to travel the world while promoting health and fitness. Becoming a trainer allowed me the opportunity to see others have the opportunity to have transformations of their own.

In 2013 I was diagnosed with a highly aggressive form of advanced stage Iv breast cancer. I was given a 20% or less chance of survival. During my battle with cancer I was not able to train myself or athletes so that I could focus my attention on battling for my life. After 9 months of extensive treatment and multiple surgeries I went into remission. Not long after my cancer being as aggressive as it was it managed to come back, this time in my brain. From there after receiving multiple procedures I was able to overcome that reoccurrence.

When asked how I have managed to stay strong and positive in this time I simply say it’s all by Gods Grace that I am here. My doctors have said that the physical strength and fitness level I had coming into treatment is one of the reasons that I responded so well.

Even in remission I will go through treatment for the rest of my life or until there is a cure for cancer. However that has not stopped me from pursuing my own fitness even now. I still train 4 days a week and I am actually stronger than I was prior to cancer.

While I no longer train athletes I help my husband run our training business while also consulting with him on program development especially with our female fat loss athletes.
